Different symptoms, one common cause.
Aching legs, a rash at the ankle, restless nights, and visible veins can look like separate problems. More often they are stages of the same underlying chronic venous insufficiency. Chronic Venous Insufficiency
The underlying disease behind most leg vein symptoms. Valves stop closing properly and blood pools in the lower leg.

Varicose Veins
Enlarged, twisted, bulging veins, usually on the legs. Often uncomfortable as well as visible.

Spider Veins
Small red, blue, or purple vessels sitting just under the skin. Sometimes isolated, sometimes fed by deeper reflux.

Venous Ulcers
Slow healing open sores, typically near the ankle. The most advanced stage of untreated venous disease.

May Thurner Syndrome
Compression of the left iliac vein that restricts outflow from the left leg and raises clot risk on that side.

DVT, Deep Vein Thrombosis
A blood clot in a deep vein, usually in the leg. Time sensitive and closely linked to venous insufficiency.

Restless Leg Syndrome
An urge to move the legs, worst at night. Frequently dismissed as a sleep issue when reflux is driving it.

Leg Pain, Cramping and Swelling
Aching, heaviness, night cramping, and end of day swelling that worsens after long periods of standing.

Venous Stasis Dermatitis
An inflamed, itchy, fragile rash around the ankle and lower calf, often mistaken for eczema or dry skin.

Skin Pigmentation Changes
Brown or bronze staining low on the leg, caused by iron left behind as red blood cells break down in the skin.

Leg Itching and Burning
Itching, burning, or a crawling sensation in the legs, often an early sign of pressure building in the veins.
